“He is the Napoleon of crime, Watson. He is the organizer of half that is evil and of nearly all that is undetected in this great city. He is a genius, a philosopher, an abstract thinker. He has a brain of the first order. He sits motionless, like a spider in the center of its web, but that web has a thousand radiations, and he knows well every quiver of each of them. He does little himself. He only plans.“
Holmes vs. Moriarty
That is how Sir Arthur Conan Doyle describes Professor James Moriarty through the most famous detective of all time in the book “The Last Case” The fear of the bad guys from Baker street. Detective Holmes in his career, has managed to deal with any criminal and solve a lot of the complicated cases. But this one was different, mainly by his intelligence, insidiousness, and artifice, with which he had made his evil plans. As a blood-red, sinister thread, he stretches in almost every case Sherlock Holmes has faced. And in the end, he became fatal to him. Specifically, at the Swiss waterfalls, where they fought the last, fatal match for both of them. Or it wasn’t like that?
